Sam Smith Racing Partnership (SSRP)

SSRP
is the result of the professional relationship
developed together by Sam Smith and his
Dad - Bernie, with Dave and Sue Cole at
the beginning of 2005, established to
help Sam on his career pathway as a Road
Racer.
From
the outset we knew financially we could
not do this alone and friends, family
and business acquaintances were called
upon to help in whatever ways they could.
Hence the reason for the term 'Partnership'
SSRP
has since grown to incorporate our loyal
sponsors and supporters both here in New
Zealand and in Australia. Sports media
by way of TV, radio and written matter
in both countries have helped enormously
to spotlight the team's progress and Sam's
profile as an international racer with
huge potential.

As
Sam moves further and further away from
home to broaden his horizons, financial
backing is something that is becoming
more and more important for him to reach
the aspirations his chosen career requires.

To
that end the team is always enthusiastic
to talk to anyone who can potentially
help Sam financially or otherwise in that
area. We are mindful however that new
sponsors do not clash with current and
long-term supporters. Please contact Dave

Dave
Cole
.
Dave is a skilled Road racer in his own
right with 4 National Championships to
his credit in Formula 2 and 600cc Sports
Production classes over the years. Most
of his international race meetings have
been on a classic bike and holds lap records
at Winton, Phillip Island and Symmons
Plains, all in Australia. Dave runs his
own motorcycle engineering business and
specialises in high performance road and
race bike preparation.
Sue
Cole
.
Sue has had previous exposure to the racing
scene with Dave's past race campaigns
and has also raced in BEARS. She has a
health and people management background
and is key to keeping everyone focused
and on track in their various roles.
Andy
Stormont
Andy has mounted many years of successful
road racing both here and in Australia.
Professionally he is a plumber by trade
and currently works as part-time mechanic
for Dave while he is setting up his own
plumbing business. He brings another dimension
to the team as second mechanic and comic
relief. His can-do attitude was self-evident
over the NZ national series. We can also
use his expertise should waterworks arise!
